4 Ingredients DIY Homemade Hair Protein

I spent last weekend trying out a DIY Homemade Hair Protein. I wasnt expecting much out of it but I just have to share how impressed I am with the immediate results! My hair is so thick, healthy and smooth after only one treatment. All you need is 1 tablespoon and these 4 ingredients. Check out the video below on the very simple steps to follow!

  1. Raw Honey
  2. Almond Oil
  3. Castor Oil
  4. Rosehip Oil

For this concoction I only used 1 tablespoon of each of the above ingredients. The best thing about this mixture, is that you can make as much as you want and keep it for next time. The best place to store it, would be in the fridge.

Once you have mixed your ingredients together, it is important to heat it up in the microwave for at least 10 seconds. This is because the Raw Honey and Castor oil have a very thick consistency and you want it to be more fluid to be able to apply a thin, even layer on your hair. If it’s too hot, let it cool down before you apply it. Do not that the honey will get thick again quickly so its best to apply it immediately while it is warm.

You can leave it on for however long you would like. 30 minutes ? An hour ? The whole day ? WHY NOT. The longer you have it on, the longer the protein gets to work its magic on your hair. For the first time I tried it, I left it on for only 30 minutes, and I saw and felt the difference almost immediately.

I wash it off with the first few rinses in warm water. This is to ensure you’re getting as much of the oil off. I end my wash with cold or room temperature water. Let it air dry. Apply whatever serums or creams you normally do after a wash. It won’t be long before you’ll be just as impressed as I was 😉
